Foxglove Farm is a source for quality part-bred Cleveland Bay horses, registered Dexter and Lineback cattle, and Shetland sheep.
We are a small mixed farm in the northern foothills of the Allegheny Mountains of NW Pennsylvania, approximately 60 miles southeast of Erie, Pennsylvania. Found Erie? Move west along Lake Erie until you find Westfield, NY. Drive south along Lake Chautauqua until you reach Jamestown, NY, and we are in Russell, PA, just below Jamestown.
In this beautiful area first explored by the Frenchman Blaise de Celeron and site of a long struggle between the French and English, Foxglove Farm does Children's Riding Lessons, raises other people's calves, and produces Dexter and Lineback breeding stock and Shetland sheep. At 50 acres, we are a small farm by most standards. But in this largely dairy area, most farms are also small, family businesses. One big plus to that is ALL our animals get plenty of attention: our horses are tame before they are trained, our cattle used to handling and halter trained. If you sit out in the sheep pastures, you'll be mobbed. As a small business in a world of small businesses, we are also not high ticket: we sell to our outside customers for the same prices we ask of our friends and neighbors.
