Our sheep are Shetlands, another old breed.
Shetlands are related to Finn sheep and to Icelandics. Early Viking settlers carried this stock from Scandanavia to the Orkneys and Shetlands and eventually Iceland. They are naturally colored, ranging from fawn to black. Though they often quite brightly parti-colored, we breed for solid body colors. Shetlands are small, easy to handle and good foragers.
They also roo; on a seasonal basis, the wool can be simply pulled out, meaning you get the whole fibre length.
We currently have four proven ewes and several 2010 lambs, rams and ewes, for sale.
