Linebacks are also an old breed, in fact were one of the principal colonial breeds. Lineback oxen are commonly seen in old ox team prints: black or red, solid or roan, they are recognizable by the prominent white strip down their backs. They also come in white with either a red or black nose and ears. Linebacks are another docile, pleasant-to-handle breed. They produce 4-5 gallons of good quality milk and also are good beef animals.
