Nowadays our principal business is Dexter and Lineback breeding stock. Dexters are small (under 40"), generally black, cattle. They evolved in Wales and Ireland, where they were primarily used as family milk cattle ('croft cattle'). Dexters are generally docile, easy for kids to handle, produce about 2 gallons of high fat milk a day, and surplus animals produce excellent grass fed beef. They are cheap to feed and do not require much space. |
